July 21st 2014, PBI Switzerland was acknowledged with consultative status before the Economic and Social Committee (ECOSOC), main organ of the United Nations Organization to coordinate economic and social activities of the agencies and commissions of the UN. This recognition definitely strengthens PBI's role within the UN system and thus broadens our possibilities to disseminate the issues faced by human rights defenders.
